Green Point Urban Park an urban oasis

The Green Point Urban Park is a transformed oasis created on what was previously known as Green Point Common. Being public land, the City of Cape Town created the urban park close to the Cape Town Stadium and Metropolitan Golf Club, with views onto the Stadium, Signal Hill, Lion’s Head, and Table Mountain.

The Park is popular for residents walking their dogs, for children safely learning to ride their bicycles, for capturing a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, for admiring the beautiful plants, shrubs, flowers and the biodiversity garden, for viewing the birds attracted to the park, and to enjoy the wetlands, with water flowing from Table Mountain to the wetlands in the park.

One can also keep fit in the Park, with fitness equipment provided, and one can run and cycle in it, with special lanes provided for bicycle riders. Three children’s playgrounds are available in the Park.

Bring a picnic basket, available at Labotessa Hotel for its guests, or enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, scones, ice cream, breakfast, or lunch at the Park Café.

There is no entrance fee to visit the Green Point Urban Park. It is open from 7h00 – 19h00 daily.
