Japanese street food restaurant opens on Church Square

Last week Ramenhead Restaurant opened next door to Labotessa Hotel, a Japanese street food restaurant located on the ground floor of Speakers’ Corner. Sister restaurant FYN is located on the fifth floor of the same building.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish, using Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a dashi-base broth. Common flavours are soy sauce and miso, and toppings include pork, nori, menma, and scallions. The Chinese noodles in ramen dishes contain kansai, giving them a distinctive yellow colour and chewiness. It is described as the national dish of Japan.

Containers with plants and tables have been added to the outside terrace, adding to the limited number of inside tables.
