What’s On in the Cape in July

Cape Town is a year-round destination, with lots to see and do.  These are some of the events and activities one can enjoy in the Cape in July :

•  Eat at Cape Town’s newest restaurant Galjoen on Harrington Street, focusing on seafood.
•  Celebrate Bastille Day in Franschhoek on 15 and 16 July, tasting foods and wines from the Valley
• Taste a selection of Pinotage wines, a homegrown cultivar, at the Pinotage & Biltong Festival, held at Allée Bleue wine estate outside Franschhoek on 29 and 30 July.
• Keep warm and enjoy Delheim’s Jazz & Cheese Fondue events outside Stellenbosch, on Sundays from 2 July until 27 August.
• Join a Cape Town community activity on Mandela Day, Tuesday 18 July, giving back to the community for 67 minutes on the day in honour of the late Nelson Mandela.
• Try the Indochine Restaurant pop-up menu at Delaire Graff outside Stellenbosch during winter.
• Have a drink at these new Cocktail Bars in Cape Town :  Talking to Strangers on Loop Street, The Holy Spirit on New Church Street, StrangeLove in Salt River, and at Cause Effect Vineyard at Morgenhof wine farm outside Stellenbosch.
• Do a mead-tasting at Cape Town Meadery in Maitland, presenting the world’s oldest fermented beverage, which has made a comeback through the ‘Game of Thrones’ TV series.
• Indulge in oysters at the Knysna Oyster Festival, until 9 July.
