“We stayed 5 nights at Labotessa, a gorgeous property located in a picturesque square in the heart of
Cape Town’s City center. Rooms are well appointed with beautiful amenities. Breakfast was served in the
lovely cafe downstairs and while the options are limited, everything we had was beautifully presented
and tastefully done. A recommendation would be to offer fruits and a viennoiserie/bread basket/spreads
without having to order this separately. Staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Special
thanks to Claudine who helped with organizing tour tickets and securing last minute spa reservations.
In our numerous travels and stays at some of the finest properties around the world, we have come to
realize that it’s wonderful and courteous service that leaves a lasting impression and Labotessa
certainly wins top honors in that area. We look forward to visiting again soon!”

Labotessa is the perfect boutique hotel. While it may not have all the facilities provided in a big hotel, it has the best overall service. Suites are elegantly designed by Johan (owner).
He is fun to talk to and very knowledgeable about the industry. Martin provided great concierge service throughout the stay and quickly and efficiently organized all the tours from cape point to table top to horse back riding on the beach.
Food at cafe terrace is great and the staff is wonderful. Focus is always on providing the best. service and all requests are promptly addressed.
If you’re traveling to Capetown then this is the hotel to stay at. Highly recommend!”

Indeed, it does. Labotessa is quite simply one of the most charming, luxurious,
and beautiful boutique hotels we have ever stayed in. From its spacious and meticulously restored suites with plenty of plugs, pillows, and other sumptuous touches (such as the free minibar and bath
products from Diptyque) to its cozy and delicious cafe downstairs (don’t miss the Eggs Benedict or the Apple Tart), Labotessa is an oasis of classic design and modern comfort in Cape Town.
Moreover, the warm and personalized service provided by Johan, Martin, and the rest of the team at Labotessa made what could have been a nightmare vacation–we stayed during a Level 4 lockdown–into a truly memorable and enjoyable experience.
The location was perfect: walkable to almost anywhere downtown and close to the waterfront

Wonderful experience in Ultimate Luxury
On a business trip to Cape Town December 2020 I was booked in at Labotessa Boutique Hotel in the center of Cape Town next to Church plain and the Parliament and “Die Groote Kerk”.
Johan du Plessis one of the co-owners of Labotessa collected me at the Airport in Cape Town. From the first moment onwards I was treated as royalty. This 5 star hotel is magnificent with the way of décor and furniture is presented. You realize that with good taste you don’t necessarily needs “bling” to leave an lasting impression.
The rooms and bathrooms is very large with everything you mav wish for.
I was so impressed with the service and personal commitment of Martin and Johan that when the opportunity arises and our next trip to Cape town was planned, we decided to bring our two granddaughters with us. So, we booked the Penthouse. On our arrival our luggage was taken care of and we were welcomed as old friends and treated like rovalty, from the welcome drink to the tour of the Penthouse. Words cannot describe what luxurv enfold you and what impeccably taste was needed to do iustice to this 3 bedroom penthouse, most probably the biggest and smartest in Cape Town.
Every item in the 2 fridges, stocked bar and Wine cooler was for our use. We had a wonderful time and the staff was super efficient and very friendly. They treated us with the utmost respect and dignity.
The breakfast each morning outside in the aarden was out of this world.
I want to say in conclusion that this was a wonderful experience in Ultimate Luxury and I will recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to spoil themselves and their family.

The hotel and rooms are perfect down to the last detail.
We had an absolutely brilliant time with constant smiling faces and friendly service. Great location, very near the Company Gardens for evening strolls and tons of history visible from the restaurant downstairs, while listening to water trickling down the fountain.

My wife and I have traveled all over the world and this was honestly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. Labotessa is exactly what a boutique hotel should be. Beautiful heritage building with excellent decor. Johan and Martijn were simply amazing. Top class hospitality you would not even get at a high-end resort. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed our entire 5-night stay. They helped plan out each day and offered to drop us at various locations in Cape Town in their hotel car, a Jaguar SUV.
They made all dinner reservations and made numerous enquiries about rental cars, shop timings, excursions etc. The staff were always pleasant and accommodating. Love the fact that breakfast is served until 4 pm and the food was excellent, including the lunch we had on our last day. Compared to other overpriced luxury hotels in Cape Town, that value for money at this gem of a place is outstanding. The room was incredibly spacious, basically a studio apartment. The location is excellent.
Most people encouraged us to stay near the Waterfront, but having visited there during our trip, we are glad we stayed in the city centre close to all the shops and restaurants. Everything about them and their staff including the overall vibe of the building was extremely welcoming. I really could go on and on, but suffice to say, we would highly recommend this hotel!
These guys know what they are doing and it was nice to finally experience what a boutique hotel is meant to be.

Labotessa has been one of the most unique stays we have ever had!
The service is beyond, and the detail in everything they have at this hotel is just amazing! They have thought of many little things no one ever has.
On arrival you are just in love with this boutique hotel, the decor and design and of course the staff. Then you go into your room (which is you own floor) where you enter via a lift straight into your “apartment”. You are provided with some lovely treats (some nibbles, some nice options to toast your arrival) all included (it’s the little things), Netflix, a yoga mat, and a hotel car to help you get around when available, just so many details I don’t think I have even touched them all!
They make you feel like you are arriving to your home more than a hotel.
The help provided by the staff and attention to each and every customer is just exceeded!

The breakfast menu at “Starlings” restaurant was small, but comprehensive enough for us to have something new everyday. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Johan and his staff have created the perfect boutique hotel. The rooms are tiny apartments with understated luxury and superb attention to detail. The personal service they afford their guests exceeds anything I’ve experienced, including from Aman, Four Seasons, One and Only, etc.
I caught a cold while traveling and the staff ran out to get me cold medicine, ordered and delivered meals, and waited on me like family.
