Located in the vibrant city centre of Cape Town, surrounded by the cobbled historical area of Church Square, five-star Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel is immersed in the elements of the area. It dates back to the 17th century.

The small, yet significant Church Square lies on the corner of Parliament and Spin Streets – close to St George’s Cathedral, The Houses of Parliament, the Slave Lodge, and the Company’s Garden – and is surrounded by architecturally-impressive buildings.

Our Labotessa founders Johan du Plessis and Jan Fourie are South Africans who have been childhood friends, share a love for Cape Town, and have homes in Holland, Italy, and North America. Jan is a seasoned international traveller with a wealth of high-end guest hotel experience. Johan studied Hospitality Management in Switzerland and gained extensive experience at the Hyatt Hotels Corporation in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Labotessa is the culmination of a love for art, history, luxury, design, and uncomplicated sophistication. All Suites represent a fusion between state-of-the-art technology and historical design. From conception to completion the Labotessa founders echoed a vision of functionality within luxury living.

Offering world-class hospitality, Labotessa is a catalyst for genuine connections, meaningful encounters, and unique memories. Behind its majestic 17th-century façade lies an opulent urban oasis that invigorates body, mind, and soul.
