The best known sporting event in the Mother City, the Cape Town Cycle Tour, takes place on Sunday 12 March. A total of 35000 cyclists will ride the 109 km route from the City centre, along the east coast of the Cape Peninsula, along Cape Point, through Chapman’s Peak along the Atlantic Ocean, and alongside the Atlantic Seaboard, the race ending at the Cape Town Stadium.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is the biggest timed cycle race in the world, and will be held for the 45th time this year.
Many roads on the cycle route will be closed for most of the day of the Cycle Race. Our Labotessa hosts will gladly guide its guests as to where to see the Cycle Race, and how to access or leave the hotel on the day.
